Frame Saw Blade Tension Master

Saw blades rolling: rolling of saw blades enables the introduction of pressure in the back part of the blade (the front of the saw blade is the part with teeth). The pressure results in elongation of the back part and slight deflection of the saw blade.

When the saw blade is being tensioned (in the tension frame) the tension is transmitted into the front, toothed, part. The saw blade saws accurately and keeps the cutting plane.

DESCRIPTION DATA SHEET

Generally:

  • The rolling intensity is checked by a steel ruler. Place the back part of the saw blade to the ruler. Before rolling is applied, the saw blade is flat. Having been rolled, it rocks slightly when its back part is placed to the ruler.
  • The deflection deviation shall vary within the recommended values of the ”Y” deviation.
  • The rolling process introduces required parameters to the saw blade.
  • The introduced pressure and the saw blade deflection release during the work; it is therefore necessary to tension the saw blade in a tension frame and to stress it via acting forces during the sawing process.

Recommendations:

  • Check the deflection of the back part of the saw blade after each sharpening.
  • Roll the blade again till the deviation value ”Y” is reached after every third or fifth sharpening.
